Welcome to the School Counseling

Purpose

As the School Counselor at R.E.L. Washington Elementary, my role is to support every Explorer in reaching their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Guided by the vision of our counseling program, I strive to empower students to achieve academic excellence, develop emotional resilience, and grow personally in a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment.

In alignment with the Ysleta Independent School District’s commitment to eliminating opportunity gaps and preparing students to be college, career, and community ready, I work collaboratively with teachers, families, and the community to provide every student with the tools, confidence, and support they need to succeed.

Through individual counseling, small groups, classroom lessons, and school-wide initiatives, I aim to help students build self-awareness, social skills, and problem-solving abilities, fostering a love for learning and a positive school experience. My mission is to ensure that every Explorer feels seen, valued, and supported on their journey toward academic achievement and personal growth.
